Agricultural products certification in Lviv region: organizational aspects and main problems

Annotation

The main attention of the article is paid to the state of the agricultural manufacturers’ products certification during their export. Organizational and legal aspects of the agricultural products certification in Lviv region are analyzed in the work. The research presents experience of the prominent agricultural enterprises that certify products in accordance to the international standards of quality, taking into consideration integrational processes, which are implied into the foreign economic strategy of Ukraine. The authors of the article define the main problems that agrarian products-makers face while certifying the output of their production. The article determines and analyzes the main legal fundamentals of agricultural products certification, outlines conditions of harmonization of the Ukrainian legislation in the sphere of certification and standardization with the European one. The work names main accreditation institutions, authorized to make evaluation of correspondence in Ukraine and particularly in the Lviv region, as well as analyzes their functions, rights and key ways of their activity. According to the research results, the authors have made proposals, which pertain to the rationalization of functions of the accredited institutions that certify agricultural products, and defined the crucial problems that exporters face during the formation of export groups of agricultural products, as well as have suggested the ways to solve those problems. It has been found out that a wide informing campaign about the standards, technical regulations and procedures of the quality evaluation are necessary for agrarian producers in order to popularize the agricultural products, manufacturing in conformity with the standards of quality.
