Annotation

The features of the influence of tourism activity and ecological condition of the city of Lviv, which is the largest city of Western Ukraine, are considered. It is focused on the preconditions for tourism development in the city of Lviv – auspicious physical and geographical position, ancient history (the city is mentioned since 1256), preservation of numerous architectural monuments and complexes within the city, making the central part of Lviv to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The number and positive dynamics of the number of tourists in the city of Lviv during 2016-2017 is indicated, which has a positive economic effect, but it is also accompanied by additional negative environmental impacton the components of the urban ecosystem.

The types of influence on the ecosystem of Lviv are described, which are caused by the activation of tourism activity, which appears in increasing the load on the transport structure of the city, in particular, an increase in the number of vehicles (road, rail and aviation); and on elements of a residential structure such as hotels, hostels, restaurants, cafes, etc. The influence of tourists on the transport structure of the city leads to an increase in air pollution by exhaust gases. With an increase in the number of guests in the city, the acoustic load increases, which is the increasing of the noise level. It is caused mainly by a large number of vehicles, the numerosity of which increases through tourist activity.

It is indicated that the increase of tourist activity in Lviv leads to an increase in the amount of water supply and drainage, the system of which is rather outdated and affects the state of the lakes of the city. Also, an increase in the number of tourists in the Lviv city leads to the production of a significant amount of garbage more than 261 thousand tons per year), the problem of which is one of the most urgent environmental problems in Lviv.

Key words

tourism activity, ecological problems, pollution of the urban ecosystem, transport structure, silt structure, air pollution, water supply and drainage, the problem of garbage
