Annotation

The internal environment of the enterprise is a set of internal variables of the enterprise, which have a direct impact on the processes carried out in the enterprise and are mainly the result of management decisions, ie controlled by management. The most significant variables of the internal environment of the enterprise include goals, structure, objectives, resources, technology, organizational culture. All internal variables are interconnected. Therefore, a change of one of them to some extent affects all the others. Improving one variable, such as technology, may not necessarily lead to increased productivity if those changes negatively affect another variable, such as humans. The environment in which the company operates is characterized by a high degree of complexity, dynamism and risk of doing business. Significant influence on the enterprise organization and performance of the management system of any business entity has an internal environment, the degree of influence of which somehow determines the organizational structure of the enterprise. The idea of importance of the external environment and the need to take into account external forces in relation to the organization, appeared in management in the late 1950's of the 20th century. Even if the changes were not so significant, managers would still have to consider the environment, because the organization as an open system depends on the outside world in terms of supply of resources, energy, personnel, and consumers. Since the survival of the enterprise depends on management, the manager must be able to identify significant factors in the environment that will affect his/her organization. Moreover, he/she should suggest appropriate ways to respond to external impacts.
